Profile

At Swiss Hardwoods we believe beauty is natural. We enhance our floors natural beauty by using Rubio Monocoat oils for our surface treatment rather than use lacquers. An oil finished floor provides protection from both the inside and outside. The advantages of oiled floors over lacquered floors are extensive. Durability; Oil penetrates deep into the wood providing long-term protection against everyday use while also leaving a protective layer on the surface to protect the floor against water, wine and other irritants.

Natural ingredients; At Swiss Hardwoods we use Rubio Monocoat Fire Retardant Oil as our surface coating. 100% plant based with no chemicals and is 100% VOC free, safe to use and great for the environment. Easy to repair; For any scratches that appear there's no need to sand and refinish the entire floor. A light sanding at the spot where a scratch is, and a small amount of oil applied to the affected area. Very quick and simple to repair. Natural Feel and Touch; With Oiled floors you can feel the grain of the wood, sensual and karmic to the soul. Lacquered floors are built up by layers of acrylic, essentially creating a barrier between you and your flooring. Fire Retardant; Rubio Monocoat Oil System has a Fire Retardant European classification Bfl-s1 (flooring) in accordance with the standard EN 13501-1: EN ISO 11925-2 and EN ISO 9239-1. Health Benefits; With zero Volatile Organic Compounds emitting from a natural product, a Swiss Hardwoods oiled wood floor adds to the indoor air quality.
